What's Giftract - Founder's Note

Giftract is about feelings, emotions and memories. It’s about creating something that makes people literally go – OMG! Are you serious?! Whaaaat?!

To encourage hugs, and tears – the happy kind.

To feel

To fight

To say sorry

To make – up

To touch someone – in that little spot in their heart

To laugh

To trouble

To have a little mischief

To quiz them on important dates and favourite colours

To relive old days and dates and long drives and that first kiss

To play

To dare

To blush

To live

To love

We wanted to create a way of life. An experience. So deep and so wonderful, so unique and so quirky that you’d hear your laughter roar through the ceilings! And in that moment you’d know, that this one, you’ll never forget.

To me Giftract has not been a journey of just creating a unique experience. It has been a journey of learnings, tests of perseverance, of showing up when there was nothing happening to making sure there come days where I couldn’t sleep enough because there is so much happening. About learning to grow and manage the chaos, and to create more of it. It’s been about going on during the lulls of routines and about riding the adrenaline rushes.

It’s about creating something fun, unique, original and interactive in a world where our phones usually add more distance among people than curbing it. It’s about honest feedbacks, about changes and re-iterations again and again till it makes people go – “That’s it! This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you soooo much for making our day!”

It’s been about failures and mistakes. And learning from them. And un-learning. And re-learning. It’s about smiles. One at a time. Each equally important than the previous, and the next.

It’s about feelings. That cannot be described. Like the ones you feel when you hear someone thank you with happy tears for helping them surprise someone important.

It’s been about growing. Together.

It’s about the mom that’s miles away from her daughter. It’s about the Christmas present from his son. It’s about the 25th birthday. And about the 50th anniversary. And the first anniversary for the couple that got married without getting to really know each other. It’s about the icebreaker. It’s about the baby shower. And the first time mom. About the shy fiancé. About the naughty ones. It's about the front-line worker who was surprised by her family, on a birthday she had to spend away from those she loved most. And the 60 somethings that went out for a late night drive for the first time in 10 years just because it was a dare in their App.

It’s about stories. And memories. Old ones and new ones.

It’s about interacting. And coming just a little closer.

All those who’ve been there. Are there. And the ones that are yet to join us.

It’s about you.
